Dear teachers and students:
Welcome to China, welcome to Xi’an. On behalf of all the members of our camp, I extremely welcome you all to our camp!
Firstly, may I introduce the city of Xi’an? The two Chinese characters in the name “Xi’an” literally mean Western Peace. That is why over a period of more than 2000 years, Xian was the capital for eleven dynasties. Along with Rome and Constantinople, this city was a world leader in culture and trade and played a vital role in bridging the gap between east and west.
The Trips
You must be familiar with The Statue of Liberty or Mount Rushmore and you must know about Great Wall. And soon you will touch the famous city wall of Xi’an, a 13.7 kilometers rectangular –shaped construction, which is the most complete and the best preserved city wall in China. You must hear about the Terracotta Army. Yes, it is the very place you can visit.
The Oriental Snacks
You must have ate sandwiches and now you can try Shaanxi sandwich（肉夹馍）. If you love barbecue you must try mutton cubes roasted on a skewer(烤羊肉串). And also you can taste the Beef or Lamb Stew of Bread(牛羊肉泡馍)，Dumpling stuffed with Hot Gravy（灌汤包子）. You can taste all kinds of food made of flour .You have lots of choices here for Xi’an is said to have nearly all kinds of oriental snacks.
Enjoy the Journey. I am sure you will not be disappointed by Xi’an.
